Jamiroquai, of course, did not ask anything before letting the dark guy into me. He just did it. And there I was, mouth open, slowly depreciating downward in front of the screen, in the vibrating glow of the almost Prince-purple Diablo SE30. And then Jay Kay, after the thousandth full throttle, looked back one last time at the end of the video - with something like a "Blue Steel" stare - and from behind the strands of hair torn by windstorms generated in the absence of a windshield, he evil-eyed one final blast at me.
Straight into the center of my eye.
And then strobe and purple curtain (no dancing dwarf). Then suddenly I was in Jay Kay's place, looking back from the TV at myself watching TV, and the video was spinning backwards:
That was when I saw Him. Through the pinhole-narrow slit of my retina. He just slipped right into me.
PURPLE MONSTER - BLACK MAGIC!
He did not introduce himself, but I knew his name was MIKE. They have tried to exorcise him before. For a moment or two, they even succeeded. In fact, there was one time - and I would swear to this - when, before leaving my body, at the very last second, he even crossed himself. Isn't that adorable?
Of course, he did not leave me alone for long. Slowly, I had to realize: I had entered into an eternal drift around the Diablo of my own self.
